Shhhh! Don't bring logic into this. Perhaps he figured that Aziraphale would eventually come round to the flat to find him anyway? Maybe all the plants are tucked up in bed (the one next to the sofa is being punished for being straggly). Maybe Hastur has turned his beloved bed into something awful in revenge? Who knows? (Not me, that's for sure.) Thank you. :D
