We tend not to think about how difficult adolescence is going to be for the Them, don't we? This piece definitely drives home the fact that they're not normal kids, they'll never quite be normal even in adulthood - and, of course, that applies to Adam most of all. As troubling as this piece is, it's marvelously effective!
