This is fantastic. The Doctor's flaws and follies really show in harsh relief next to Adam, don't they? It's funny, I think it's something they try to do on the show from time to time-- set the Doctor against a similarly powerful and knowledgeable being who's much more local and concentrated in influence than he, without his mobility or transience; but it works much better here, I feel like, than it usually does on the show. There's something about Adam, who chooses to show his youth where the Doctor likes to focus on his age, these days, it's just really effective.

Also, this is hilarious, so. And the Them are every bit as well-done as Adam and the Doctor; Adam's love for them is terrifying, yeah, but it's also just really warm and lovely.
