Hello secret author, thank you for creating this story! I enjoyed it so very much. The bits you took from the book universe are quite nice, Pepper and Adam winking at each other to communicate the same non-functional way the nuns did 15 years ago was hilarious, some things never change!
Adam setting boundaries with his powers is such a healthy thing. It adds more to it because Adam chose to use his powers just to get Brian the Queen’s position, or did he? ;)
I also like Brian and Wensleydale were very excited about activities that apparently wouldn’t be their first choice but deep down it is for a very “them” reason. I laughed a lot when Wensleydale defended his prize, but also didn’t believe it to be fun, because I genuinely liked the cheese board. It was made out of real wood! Kid do you know how hard it is to get something that is not plastic nowadays?! Later on I discovered I was being a Newt Pulsifer kind of adult getting excited about boring stuff.
Pepper and Anathema's staring contest moment was also quite interesting. Pepper was having all the fun and nothing and no one was gonna stop her
Thank you for adding Greasy to the story that “kid” is actually very important. I adore that he exchanged a disco ball for a fake rock! I wonder how Anathema got her hands on it.
