I like this story *a lot.* I think, what worked best for me, was that despite time/place/gender shifts, Crowley and Aziraphale were still very much themselves. And that they were selves who still had a lot to learn about the world they DO live in.

“Shut up,” said Crowley, and kissed him.

Oh. YES. I love this sort of happy ending. :)
