Almost certainly pre-houseplants. And I'm not sure Crowley ever really knew all that much about different varieties of plants or proper growing methods, as the threaten-them-with-stemly-harm-and-horrible-mulched-death seemed to work well enough for him all that time...
I think after this he'll remember mistletoe, though. ;) For, you know, various, COMPLETELY INNOCENT reasons, of course!
Coming from tropical climes, that was EXACTLY my reaction when someone told me about mistletoe. So Crowley having the same reaction makes this comic extra awesome for me.
*lol* Seriously? That is too funny. So now you know you're in good company, with a demon! ;) I'm pretty sure it's more or less universal; I remember being little and having this idea in my head of mistletoe having toes. O_o
