Strangely, it never even occurred to me to imagine that he'd keep them kids forever! It just doesn't seem his style. He's got enough love for life that I think he'd want to lead a normal one, and that he'd want everyone else to lead normal ones, too. Well. As close as our world can come to normal ;)
