I loved the footnotes, the French chickens, Crowley's 'innocent' look that left him looking traumatised, the ladies and lords... and the final scene was perfect, I love how you call it a 'hellish tableau'. And Crowley starting it all because he was drunk! Perfect, and perfectly typical of him. And oh, Aziraphale: “Of course I forgive you, my dear boy, there's just the small matter of, ah...atonement.” He really is a bit of a bastard.
