TITLE: play our song (to see if it’s in tune)

RECIPIENT: sonnet23
RATING: M
WARNINGS: language, non-graphic descriptions of injury, mentions of war and plague, extreme weather, imprisonment
PAIRINGS Aziraphale/Crowley
SUMMARY:
Aziraphale bursts out, “what do you need me to do? I’ve already admitted that you were right. And that I was wrong. Do you need me to — shall I do a little dance for you?”
That, at least, gets Crowley to open his eyes, a curious eyebrow hiking up into his forehead.
What on Earth would a dance even do?
Besides, everyone knows that angels don’t dance.
Aziraphale seems to take that as encouragement, though, and quickly pushes himself to his feet.

Five times that Aziraphale did the I Was Wrong dance, and one time that Crowley stopped him.

(Title taken from Ruin by the Amazing Devil)

It's the late 1970s, there's NO FUTURE and ENGLAND'S DREAMING, or so they say, very loudly. Aziraphale and Crowley are both directed to infiltrate the London punk scene. As usual they succeed mostly in infiltrating each other.

Smooth runs the water where the brook is deep

It is the mid fifteenth century, and after a battle, Aziraphale and Crowley find themselves tied together as hostages in the cellar of an inn. Unable, for various reasons, to resort to miracles to free themselves, they must work together to find a solution before the dawn of the next day, or Crowley risks being discorporated by the very people he was assigned to tempt.

A fic set in the time of the War of the Roses featuring friendship, co-operation and the giving and receiving of stealth hugs.

Rating: Teen and up for some swearing and mild references to violence.

For sonnet23. You asked for a hostage situation in which they can’t just miracle themselves out or miracle everything okay. This is mostly Book canon, but there are hints of Show characterisation here and there. Happy Holidays, I hope you enjoy this.

Title: To Creep Under His Gabardine
Summary: Sharing a sleeping space used to be much more common, historically. It didn’t mean that Crowley and Aziraphale had (literally) slept together very often…but they had done so. By the middle of the 1800s or so that practice had fallen out of fashion, and it began to feel like a shocking sort of intimacy. Basically: five times Crowley and Aziraphale shared a bedtime before the Apocalypse, and the first time they shared a bedtime after.
Rating: T

Summary: vulgarweed asked for furtive sneaky hookups throughout history with an emphasis on the forbidden and them being sneaky and convincing themselves they're just frenemies with benefits until the modern day where they're in love, and I thought the best way to illustrate that was with Several Paintings lol. So here is them being stupid in an ambiguously ancient desert tent, horny 11th century monastery shenanigans, late medieval frenemy tomfoolery with cool hats, 1920s George Barbier-style tenderness, and a modern South Downs scene with them just hanging out being married. I hope they are sweet and wholesome and illustrate the story well!

The Harvest of Uruk

My giftee is: ladylier!
The Prompt: History Omens, retelling of a history event where our angels mess up, or entirely completely miss the event because they pay attention to other things, but we can see the background. It can be full pairing or pining, or platonic friendship is also good. Preferably not US centric
GO Characters: Aziraphale, Crowley
Pairings: None
Major Warnings: Nothing shown on page, although there is a serial killer OC that the characters interact with (aka the other thing Aziraphale and Crowley pay attention to instead of the history)
Other Tags: book verse, historical inaccuracy, Bible, theology, I'm probably committing heresy, not that this is new, War of the Roses, Elizabeth Woodville, Lewis of Caerleon, Margaret Beaufort (mentioned), Henry Tudor (mentioned), Richard III (mentioned), Westminster Abbey, how Crowley ends up moving to Florence.

Demon of the Lamp

Good Omens (Book & TV)

Aziraphale & Crowley

#action/adventure #AU #djinn #genies #historical #historical accuracy #Sasanian Empire #enemies to friends #happy ending #mild language

G, Gen, No Archive Warnings

Summary: The lamp of the (mighty and powerful) djinn Crowley has fallen into the hands of a human named Aziraphale. Now Crowley has to grant him three wishes. Or two if Aziraphale is merciful enough to set him free.

For #17, Sonnet23. I’ve adjusted your prompt slightly; I hope you don’t mind!

I’ve kept this as historically accurate as possible, with some minor liberties taken for plot reasons. For the djinn/genie elements, I drew mostly on modern mythology, namely Disney’s Aladdin and the Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud.

Title: Worth It This Time
Recipient: wanderingalice
Rating: Teen & Up Audiences (themes of grief and mortality)
Pairing: Aziraphale & Crowley; Aziraphale/Crowley (technically pre-getting together)
Notes: My recipient’s prompt involves Aziraphale noticing an increase in Crowley’s tendency to cover his eyes, with the implication that Crowley increasingly feels the need to hide his emotions, especially his feelings toward Aziraphale. This is a historical piece, a small snapshot framing the greater trend of Crowley hiding behind his glasses. Apologies for this gift’s lateness within the scope of GOHE, but I ended up (very gladly) doing it as a pinch hit. I wish you a very Happy New Year, wanderingalice, even if this fic is wistful!
Summary/Teaser:

Crowley didn’t seem to appreciate Aziraphale tossing rocks at his shutters before nine o’clock.

Crowley squinted at Aziraphale, leaning on the windowsill. “What the devil’s got you up so early? This isn’t one of Will’s rom coms.”

“Will,” Aziraphale said dourly, but resisted the urge to add
the devil, too, given I’m standing here talking to you. “He’s fallen ill.”

Crowley blinked down at him sadly. “He’s
been ill, angel. It was a matter of time.”

“Yes, but one of our colleagues thinks he’s taken a turn for the worse,” Aziraphale said, shifting uneasily. “He signed his will a few weeks ago.”
