Good Omens Holiday Exchange

Hello, Exchangelings! The mods are opening the sign-up process for our 20th year of holiday delights! That's right. Good Omens Exchange has operated every holiday season since 2005, so by now it's something we consider a fandom institution. We've had a lot of wonderful people be part of the Exchange over the years. A few participants have been in every single one. But...! we'd love for you to sign up if you are new to the Exchange or even the Good Omens fandom.

Here's how it works:

On THIS post, request 3 different prompt scenarios you'd like to receive in either art or fic form, listed like this:

* Unlike your prompts and likes/dislikes, this information (like your email) will NOT be displayed on the public anonymous claiming post.

You MUST include your email address with your request. You MUST let us know what name you're using on all correspondence. Comments will be screened, and no one but the mods will see them. We'll copy and paste them into a list with names and other potentially identifying information redacted for participants to choose from.

When sign-ups close, that post will open for claiming, and participants will choose the prompts they want to create from that anonymized list of prompts/requests, so anonymity will be preserved both ways. Please read directions carefully.

In other words, you will be choosing a prompt, but you will not know whose prompt you're taking. And, as always, you will not know who requested or received your prompt until the reveal shortly after New Year's!

THIS IS THE SIGN-UPS POST. Comments will be screened. Your prompts will be processed as quickly as possible and added to the list of anonymous request prompts. At the end of the sign-up period (September 18th at 11:59 US-EDT), we will ask you to select your top choices in a screened comment. Prompt claiming will be open until a date we'll specify in the prompts post. At the end of the prompt selection period, we will make final assignments based on your selected prompts. We cannot guarantee your first choice, but we'll try to match you with one of your requests. Early requesters will have a slightly better chance of getting a first choice. Assignments will be sent out by the last week of October, and gifts will be due no later than November 28. Posting of the gifts begins on December 1.

All gifts must be in English. Fic should be submitted already beta'd and HTML-coded. They will be posted as-submitted. Please submit art that includes text with a transcription listed separately for language assistance.

1. You should love Good Omens - Book, TV, or both!
2. You should be eager to create a gift of art or fic for someone else and have the same done unto you!

We’re located at Dreamwidth. You do not need a Dreamwidth account to participate (although it’s recommended, and it’s easy and free); just a valid email that you check regularly. The mods must be able to reach you!

Why not take some time now to review the past 17 years of gifts?

First, a couple Mod announcements:




1. If you plan to post to AO3 after the Reveal, we've set up a Collection (Good Omens Holiday Exchange 2021) in which you can include your work if you choose. Creators will be free to post their creations in any forum after the Reveal on 4 Jan.

2. After the Reveal, the Mods will continue to monitor for comments on Dreamwidth through the month of January and will notify creators within a reasonable time frame of new comments on their gifts.

3. If you want to be on the invitation list for NEXT year's Exchange and did NOT participate this year (if you did, you will automatically receive an emailed invitation), please send an email to goodomens dot exchange @ gmail dot com.
