Title: “Chopped: Celestial Edition”
Author: (redacted)
Rating: General-ish
Word Count: 1500, or thereabouts
Characters: Aziraphale/Crowley, Anathema Device, Newton Pulsifer, Madame Tracy, Witchfinder Sergeant Shadwell
Warnings: N/A
Notes: For those who are unfamiliar with Chopped, this is an American cooking competition, in which four participants are given 3 successive baskets of mystery ingredients and have to create three courses featuring those ingredients. One participant is eliminated (ie, “Chopped”) in each round.
Summary: Aziraphale thinks it would be rather fun to be a contestant in an at-home version of Chopped. Crowley thinks it would be something other than fun, but he did promise a holiday gift to Aziraphale, so Chopped, it is.

Title: Worth It This Time
Recipient: wanderingalice
Rating: Teen & Up Audiences (themes of grief and mortality)
Pairing: Aziraphale & Crowley; Aziraphale/Crowley (technically pre-getting together)
Notes: My recipient’s prompt involves Aziraphale noticing an increase in Crowley’s tendency to cover his eyes, with the implication that Crowley increasingly feels the need to hide his emotions, especially his feelings toward Aziraphale. This is a historical piece, a small snapshot framing the greater trend of Crowley hiding behind his glasses. Apologies for this gift’s lateness within the scope of GOHE, but I ended up (very gladly) doing it as a pinch hit. I wish you a very Happy New Year, wanderingalice, even if this fic is wistful!
Summary/Teaser:

Crowley didn’t seem to appreciate Aziraphale tossing rocks at his shutters before nine o’clock.

Crowley squinted at Aziraphale, leaning on the windowsill. “What the devil’s got you up so early? This isn’t one of Will’s rom coms.”

“Will,” Aziraphale said dourly, but resisted the urge to add
the devil, too, given I’m standing here talking to you. “He’s fallen ill.”

Crowley blinked down at him sadly. “He’s
been ill, angel. It was a matter of time.”

“Yes, but one of our colleagues thinks he’s taken a turn for the worse,” Aziraphale said, shifting uneasily. “He signed his will a few weeks ago.”

Title: BewareBnB

Recipient: hoshi_ryo

Rating: Teen

Pairing: Aziraphale/Crowley

Warnings: Mild horror elements

Prompt/Request: Aziraphale & or / Crowley, the very awkward AirBRB rental that turns out to have a slight monster infestation and a tendency to slip through space/time like a TARDIS with busted steering & brakes (and also the door tends to get stuck), any rating. Worldbuilding, humor, crack, horror (especially classic horror & weird fiction), literary crossovers

Summary: I tried to do just that but with a little holiday flourish too. I hope you like it!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS RiWriting!!

Thank you to Luna for the beta.

Rating: G

PAIRING/PLOT BUNNY/RATING CHOICE ONE: Gen or Aziraphale/Crowley. One or both of Aziraphale and Crowley get a job as a historical interpreter. Their reason for getting this job is up to you – maybe it's a mission from Heaven/Hell, maybe there's a bet involved, or maybe one or both were just bored. Considering they both lived through the events they're portraying, they might be very good at it...or they might be utterly incompetent.

PAIRING/PLOT BUNNY/RATING CHOICE TWO: Gen (although Aziraphale/Crowley is welcome as a background ship). Adam's college roommate has been noticing that something is a bit off about Adam. He never seems to get in trouble for typical college shenanigans; suspicion slides right off him. No one even questions the pet dog he keeps in the dorm even though pets are not permitted. When a nervous man in sunglasses and sharp suits shows up and talks to Adam like Adam is his boss, the roommate decides there's only one explanation: Adam must be involved in organized crime. (Adam, Dog, and Crowley are in their canon roles; those roles are just misunderstood by the roommate, because “mafia” makes more sense than “the antichrist, his hellhound, and a demon.” Other GO characters welcome to appear).

Help! I think my roommate is in the Mafia!

Title: Love Thy Enemy

Pairing: Beelzebub/Gabriel, Crowley/Aziraphale

Rating: G

Author’s Note: Happy Holidays, edna_blackadder. I hope you enjoy the story. And thank you to my beta, M, who can be called on for those last minute Hail Marys.

Summary: If Gabriel’s appearance, some weeks after The Incident, wasn’t enough to tip off Aziraphale that this wasn’t an official visit, Gabriel actually knocking on the door of the bookshop before entering was tantamount to dark glasses, a fedora, and a trenchcoat. Or a conversation on the upper floor of a double decker bus.

Title: A Seal Upon Their Hearts (and an Absurdity Upon Their Lives)
Summary: Aziraphale and Crowley attend a lesbian wedding, pretend to be married lesbians themselves, spend a lot of time sharing a bed, and are very bad at communicating. None of it goes exactly as planned.

Title: The Trophies of War

Recipient name: Elsajeni

Rating: G

Pairings and characters: Aziraphale/Crowley

Warnings: Brief mention of the plague

Summary: At the end of the Hundred Years’ War, Crowley is taken hostage by a French knight. He doesn’t take this adventure seriously at first, and his captor is rather a nice human. But something seems to be wrong with the castle, and Aziraphale doesn’t hurry to rescue him…

Additional tags: Middle Ages; some humour; fluff and angst (mostly because Crowley is a drama queen); some action; some cracks in “the fourth wall”

Dear Elsajeni, thank you for the interesting prompt, I hope you’ll like the story! Happy holidays!

Author’s Notes:

1) I tried to experiment with form a bit, so ideally you should be able to read this story in two ways: a) read chapters in the order they appear b) or read Crowley’s chapters first, and then read Aziraphale’s chapters to learn what the angel was doing in the meantime.

2) I didn’t try to mimic the style of medieval language at all, because it wouldn’t have been consistent. Let’s just pretend that this is a translation into modern English.

A huge thank you to the Mods for beta-reading my story!

Recipient: #8, ImprobableDreams900

Title: A Moment Suspended in Sea Spray

Wordcount: 13,400

Rating: T

Warnings: mildly dubious consent, the ark (discussed, but not depicted, child death), mild self-loathing (on par with canon)

Tags: Aziraphale/Crowley, ineffable husbands, mutual pining, wings, wing injury, time travel shenanigans, scene: the ark, angst, hurt/comfort, but the comforted one is also kind of hurt by the comfort, sorry, happy ending

Summary: Green filled his vision in the brief second before he instinctively tucked his head away in his coils. Crawly didn’t think there had ever been anything green and growing in Hell save perhaps a good mold behind Hastur’s knees. Cautiously, he inched the very tip of his nose out of his coils and flicked his tongue.

Growing things. Soil. Apples. The oil left behind by human hands. Something strange and sharp smelling. Under it all, a smell he knew but couldn’t place.

This wasn’t Hell.

Title: Under the lights
Writer: secret
Rating: K+
Words: 1020
Characters, Pairing and Other: Crowley/Aziraphale, mention of Warlock and Adam (also,
mention of today's plague; it is really short, but be sure to be careful).
Summary: Crowley and Aziraphale see the Northern Lights, speak about the rest of their
journey and are simply happy being together.

Hello Pollitt, here is your gift, I hope it will please you. I chose to deal with your domestic prompt,
because I love the idea of Crowley and Aziraphale travelling together. I wish you (and the world) the
best for 2021.

Rating: General Audiences
Pairing: Aziraphale/Crowley (pre-relationship)
Word Count: 4000
Summary: It's 1893, and Heaven and Hell have separately dispatched agents to the World's Columbian Exposition. Their respective agents were rather hoping not to run into each other. But since it turns out they're just canceling each other out again, maybe they can make the best of it…

Title: #Accurate
Recipient: SporkFosterFan
Pairing: Gen
Rating: SFW (G, maybe PG)
Word Count: ~1060
Content Notes/Warnings: Biblically Accurate Angels
Summary: Aziraphale feels that lockdown gives people really altogether too much free time for their own good.
Notes: I tried for horror, it's one of my usual genres, and…I don't know what happened. Thus, please enjoy what seems to be an ode to one of Ambrose Bierce's lesser-known stories, The Discomfited Demon. Set in 2020/after the Apocalypse That Wasn't.

The Treasure of Palenque

Rated T

Aziraphale & Crowley, Aziraphale/Crowley

#action/adventure #humanAU #Indiana Jones AU #1950s #Maya #Mesoamerica #Palenque #historical accuracy #archaeology #linguistics #romance #some violence #Nazis

Summary

Having just crossed the Atlantic, the anthropologist Aziraphale finds himself in need of a local guide to take him through the Mexican jungle to the ancient Maya city of Palenque. Luckily, the services of one A. J. Crowley are available.

A/N

An Indiana Jones-style adventure with Aziraphale and Crowley. Their dynamic ends up being more akin to the main romance in The Mummy, and the setting definitely owes something to The Road to El Dorado, but, hey, it’s all the same genre, right? This ended up being a little long since there was so much to explore, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless!
