Wow, thank you so much for this comment and all its thought and energy! I am so, so glad you enjoyed it so much!

The way Anathema just understood. And even when she didn't perfectly understand, she still knew, somehow. So very Anathema. Perfect.

Her practicality is a real force of nature, isn't it? I think she's an underwritten character in this fandom and ought to get more chances to shine. But she needs something to respond to, and Adam is such a great foil. He's challenging!

The concept of the Antichrist being a different entity from Adam? Ngk. Blew my mind; loved every second of it.

Mm. All I really did there was build on the concept of his shadow-self that is mentioned in the book; I just gave him an opportunity for a more direct confrontation. :D Adam's kind of has a double-duality; the Antichrist has both his angelic and demonic aspect, and Adam's human side further complicates that. It's not as simple as Good Adam and Evil Adam; all his aspects need each other, but don't necessarily exist in harmony. Poor kid.

And, of course, there's sex. :)

But there is so freaking much going ON there, metaphysically, emotionally, spiritually (grammatically...whoops, wrong fandom). The sex is unbelievably hot, but the background and Aziraphale's orchestration and Crowley's compliance with still the desperate streak of Tempter, tempting himself, Adam, Aziraphale all at once--and Aziraphale still the enforcer, still thwarting--makes it so much warmer. And I swear I felt every second of pain and desperation and, especially, Adam's internal struggle with Himself.

One way I thought about this scene (after I wrote it; I'm not so clever as to think about it before so clearly) is that what Aziraphale and Crowley are partly doing here is externalizing Adam's conflict in a different way. Adam's been doing a load of tempting and thwarting within himself, after all. Sometimes working with one's inner nature, not against it, really all does work out for the best. Provided you have the right chemistry.

Again, thanks so much for this, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much.
