I'm glad you liked it! I threw Hildegard in there because I was exposed to her late in my undergrad and was basically fascinated; I admit not expecting anyone to really appreciate her (being that medieval lady Doctors of the Church are hardly commonly-requested artists/writers people refer to) so I'm glad you noticed and liked that!

Antonia J. Crowley, I imagine, is a much angrier figure than Anthony. It's much harder to care and just be lazy and scared when instead you're restricted and stomped on by literally lesser beings than yourself; so I have instead a Crowley who cares fiercely, but knows the world is cruel and awful in slightly more personal ways than the book's Crowley ever does. I think Aziraphale is perhaps worse than book!Aziraphale - just picturing her as a Charitable Lady and her knowing this role is like doubly and triply acceptable for all aspects of who she is. (I like to think that after Crowley gives up and sleeps away the nineteenth century, Aziraphale attempts to apologize by...starting Victorian social reform movements. Which if you know anything about you are aware they are deeply deeply flawed movements that damage about half as much as they achieve...but it works Too Well with this Aziraphale. Well-meaning, but completely unaware of life outside her little bubble.) ...that was long and rambly, and reflects faaaar too much of what I studied in my undergrad lol!
