thank you! i'm glad the ending was not the irritating kind of too-big twist. i couldn't give away much about the Adam-ex-machina, other than him having gone missing before; but i decided to absolutely stick to the Checkhov's gun principle when it came to the greenhouse-ful of botanical curiosities :)
