Thank you! The prompt said Anathema should discover something that scares even angels... well, i figured, even without the further dramatic consequences, the pure inconvenience of magic becoming unavailable would be enough to scare at least one angel we know :D

>> I'm a bit confused by this tbh, because I thought demons die when they fall through...
well, two things i considered are that (a) at this point everyone is just guessing how the down-/upwards fall would affect the higher ranks - demons might still survive sometimes. and (b) in my mind, yes they totally would destroy everything out of spite, even without demons present. they're really not over the whole armageddidn't business, and the humiliating and dreadful experience they will have to live through in tumbling out of Heaven to live on a practically magic-less Earth just confirm in their minds that the world is in fact past its expiration date and should be destroyed like it had been planned originally. i'm really sorry if it was not too clear from the story.

"The miserable October rain was just preparing to turn into miserable November rain - it only had to linger for one more day to accomplish that"
>> hahaha! XD this is somehow cute!

thanks, i might have been writing it when i hadn't seen the sun for a week, and days and nights only differed in the shade of grey the sky took on... XD

"venom seeping from his teeth"
>> :OOO
Oh no, POOR Crowley!! DDD: Who has done this to him??! DX

as i've said in another comment, some humans would make excellent demons, and they can pop up in any profession (irl and in fic too). in this particular case of the fic, it had been some petty occultist that noticed Crowley while he was trying to carry out a little scheme as a tiny inconspicuous snake. he captured and bound him to the animal form, then wanted to make some money and sold him to some other enterprising bastard that knew very little about snakes and how to treat them properly, but thought selling the venom of rare breeds would turn a profit. (i can only hope i will never hear of a real-life equivalent of this.)

"his favourite tartan disaster"
>> aaaaaaaaaaaw, hahaha <333

if i'll be remembered as the tartan disaster person, i'd die happy

Ooooooh, Gabriel showed up! And he's vicious! I think I remember someone saying in a comment that in their fic, Gabriel's appearance would be very bad, so I think I know now who this fic is from ;)
i'm suuure i don't know what comment you're talking about :D but maybe if i stay awake long enough, understanding will >come upon a midnight clear<... :D

>> AZIRAPHALE TO THE RESCUE! No one can beat really angry Aziraphale! Not even Gabriel!
that's honestly one of my favourite tropes to write :)

"His (possibly former) superior let out an ear-splitting cry of pain"
>> oh no, I feel bad for him :< And then he even gets poisoned ;_; My poor baby. I hope he will be fixed in the end too T_T

i might have said this somewhere already, but i'll leave it up to everyone's imagination what exactly Anathema means when she says she "took care of sleeping beauty"...

i'm glad you enjoyed the time Aziraphale and snake'Crowley spent together, it was kind of bittersweet to write...

"which would soon become properly extinct now"
>> :(

well, you can't always save everyone and everything. but i'm sure Crowley will remember them fondly, and appreciate the new plants he'll get, too... maybe even go a little easier on them...

It might be funny to see Zira and Crowley trying to live without magic and miracles for a while, but ultimately, I like them being able to miracle around ^-^ And we don't want all those poor angels stuck on earth!
Yes, it could be hilarious to us, for a while, but all of them have been through enough. i should leave them in the hands of less cruel fanfic writers XD

Thank you very much for your lovely and detailed comments! I'm glad you found the story interesting!
