I am so thrilled with this - the poignancy of it, the perfection of the songs you chose, the way the lyrics speak to them through the years. The way Cohen grapples with theology, with good and evil, with grief and loss and injustice, in such an intimate and personal way: of course Aziraphale and Crowley would feel so very...called-out and seen.
And through it, truly see each other.
The very last scene, reflecting on where they've been and what they've done, and who they've been - from a space of hard-earned closeness and safety, it just slays me.
I do care much more than a little what happens to their hearts. This was everything I hoped for and more. Thank you.
edit: I listened to all the songs while I read it. Forced myself to read to fit the slow pace (I usually read faster). It was such a rich experience I recommend it to everyone reading this.
