Wow, this was incredible! I must confess that as soon as I realized what was in front of me I tried to read more slowly to make the pleasure last. :D

I loved it! I adore movies about treasure hunts: Indiana Jones, The Mummy, The Librarian - you name it - and this was so true to the genre! It had a mystery, historical facts, beautiful descriptions of beautiful ancient places and objects, and also action and emotional bits.

And, of course, the characters were absolutely wonderful here. I think even if they were not Crowley and Aziraphale, but original characters with the same fate and features I would have fallen in love with them. With this wonderfully enthusiastic English scholar, who's used to sitting at home and reading and knows close to nothing about the real world, but who sets off on a journey to another part of the world anyway - only to prove his theory, and who can fight for what he believes when it's absolutely necessary.

I laughed so much at this line in the beginning: "Crowley half-expected him to produce a monogrammed silk handkerchief." :D But then I almost cried when he defied the Nazies when they wanted to open the tomb, but gave in because he needed to save Crowley...

And Crowley, this too-tender-hearted-natural-guide who is at home in the jungles and who would save even a horrible Nazi.

But of course, it's especially great that they're still the A&C from the book, and it's easy to feel their canonic features. I especially loved Crowley's story, in this regard. The one about his flight to Mexico to avoid the war. Because it's basically the story of him sauntering-vaguely-downwards, isn't it? He says, he's not a hero, he didn't fight - neither on the good nor on the bad side. He just went away and lived his own life loving the world where he lived. Just like Crowley does on the Earth. But then, when he meets Aziraphale - he sees something to fight for, and it's absolutely brilliant, how the end of this story mirrors the great final scene in Good Omens, where Crowley has to forget his fears and join Aziraphale in the battle against Satan. Ah! <3

The whole passage where Aziraphale understands that Crowley is too kind for these words is soooo beautiful, I almost wanted to quote all of it here. <3 T_T

But... Arkansas Jones Crowley!!!!!!! AAAAAAA!!! XDXDXD I finished reading it at 3.30 am, and I swear I couldn't sleep for another half an hour because I was giggling. XD It's just genius! XD

Oh, and as someone who has watched the show an inordinate number of times, I couldn't help but notice the line:
“You two…are very annoying.” - said by the Nazi. I read it in Mark Gatiss's voice because his character says almost the exact same line in the show. XD Please, tell me that this reference was intentional? :D

I probably forgot to mention something I'd wanted to say... I'll add it if I remember. :)

Thank you for this wonderful story!
