I liked this! In fact, it fits my own view of Adam. I've always felt bad that if he and Pepper or anyone did fall in love, he'd never know if they loved him of their own free will or if they loved him because he loved them and he wanted them to love him. I often wondered how he'd deal with it, but I never thought he'd run away.
