Crowley and Aziraphale in Prohibition America. Prime tempting turf, naturally, what with all that repression; what better excuse for a trip abroad? Also excellent spirits, music, and dancing. Perhaps Aziraphale tagged along for a bit of a holidayand booze, ostensibly for the purpose of thwarting? In any case, their wiling/thwarting/drinking has just been interrupted by a police raid on the speakeasy.... and they're both juuuust drunk enough to have forgotten they can easily poof out of the vicinity if they need to. Aziraphale has had a few too many cookies lately (I'd call them biscuits, but this IS America, after all), and Crowley is trying to shove his somewhat portly inebriated friend out the window before they're arrested, while (of course) rescuing some of the good booze. Sure, they could simply miracle some up later, but it just isn't the same, you know.

My utmost apologies for any glaring period inaccuracies! I confess I procrastinated and then matters were suddenly down to the wire, and I didn't have time to do more than brief cursory research on setting and costume. I hope the picture's virtues outweigh its flaws though, or at least lend them dubious charm. If my efforts have made you smile, my goal is fulfilled!

Date: 2010-12-12 12:19 am (UTC)I adore Crowley sneaking out a few choice bottles of bathtub booze (honestly, how could he prefer that over vintage wine? Experimenting?) And I am completely in LOVE with Aziraphale's shoe falling off. Oh dear, I now imagine a strange sort of Cinderella. Or at the very least him insisting they rescue it because it was expensive and he doesn't want to simply miracle up a new pair. XD

Date: 2010-12-12 12:53 am (UTC)And your artwork is absolutely gorgeous. I love Crowley smuggling along some alcohol, and the look on Aziraphale's face, and there's just something about Crowley's expression and the way his hair's falling in the picture that just makes me go, "Oh, oh, AMAZING!" at the computer screen.
Thank you SO much!

Date: 2010-12-12 04:37 am (UTC)I love how Aziraphale's shoe is falling off, and how Crowley's trying to rescue some of the booze while
copping a feelhelping Aziraphale climb out of the window. And their expressions? Perfect.(no subject)
Date: 2010-12-12 05:07 am (UTC)It's very much a good illustration; there is the sense of narrative. You can see it accompanying a story. The drawing is a very clean, accurate style but there's also nothing static about it; there's a nice sense of movement conveyed.
The humor and touches of character are delightful, Crowley shoving on Aziraphale's rather generous butt, but also taking care to bring a couple of bottles of the hooch along. 'Zira a scholarly bookish type immediately with the leather patches on his jacket and his inebriation but his unlaced shoes!
