Title: Hat-tastic
Gift for: [livejournal.com profile] lady_aileas
Artists: [livejournal.com profile] nomnomnim
Rating: G
Artist's notes: The prompt was 'Aziraphale/ Crowley, historical anything. Any rating.' A little explanation, the costumes here are from the play ‘Szibill’ (or Sybil in English) which you can read about here. I shall not pretend that I picked it for any real similarity to Good Omens, although if you squint I suppose you could draw comparisons. No, this is all about the fabulous hats. I hope you like fabulous hats.

Happy Holidays, [livejournal.com profile] lady_aileas, from your Secret Artist!

The hats are rather painful, but that's theatre for you. Thank you.

For some strange reason it's Crowley's boots which really get me. Hnngh. *__*

Both their outfits are gorgeous! Love Crowley's cane and the lovely contrast of the colours of their clothes. And ooh, those hats. Love them!

Thank you. The cane was a last minute random add so it's nice to know it doesn't look too odd there. Crowley's boots are no doubt designed to 'get' people.

What a delightfully novel idea! They somehow LOOK like they belong in an operetta--or as Christmas ornament versions of the characters as if they were made of marzipan (the matte finish of the painting suggesting the candy, I'm sure, not to mention the extravagant design of both costume and the amazing hats.

Ah thank you. You know I hadn't thought of that but you are right, they look like Christmas decorations. Tin soldiers or nutcrackers, or yes marzipan. I would definitely eat those hats if they were marzipan, especially if there was dark chocolate inside.

Thanks! I don't paint on the computer (or at all) very much so it was a bit of an experiment. I can't take credit for the details as I was heavily basing it on actual costumes but thank you(I thought I had included links but I must have forgotten, I will have to hunt them down in time for the reveal).

O_O Those HATS!!! The texture in your style is lovely, the shading on their jawlines! Oh thank you so much!

I'm really enjoying Azi's tiny mustasche and tassels. I'm a bit of an opera/ theatre nerd, but I've never heard this one... I'll have to go have a listen...

Thank you so much again!

Thank you. I'm sorry for my late response, that time of the year ha.

I'm so glad you liked the hats, I was worried they would be a bit too daft (if there is such a thing in opera).

Hope you had a nice new year.

That hats are fabulous! Also loving the colors. There's something rather Christmas-y (by way of the Nutcracker, maybe?) about the whole thing.

The best hats are fabulous hats. Thank you, I'm feeling rather Christmassy myself now despite it all being over with.

Thank you very much. As I mentioned in a reply above there are some links that I forgot to add which I will hunt down in time for the reveal so people can see the original costumes. I wouldn't want anyone to think that those hats were anything but real.
