Note: Not sure if this is what you had in mind, but I hope you like it. I hope that the story is not too silly and the sweater not too ridiculous.
Crowley and Aziraphale woke up early on Christmas morning to exchange gifts by the fireplace. Aziraphale was thumbing through his new copy of Rothspurn's Pythic Insights: Poetic Interpretations of Prophecy (revised 5th edition).
"Thank you, Crowley, it looks interesting."
Crowley, on the other hand, sat silently, staring into the gift box that he had just opened. Aziraphale smiled.
"Well, aren't you going to try it on?"
"What the hell is this?"
"It's a jumper, Crowley."
"I know that, but where did you get it?"
"At a store."
"And was this store by chance located in Hell?"
"Whatever do you mean by that?"
"I mean it's infernally hideous. Even you have enough fashion sense to see that."
"I don't know," Aziraphale said with a smirk, "Didn't you say just last week that I had absolutely no sense of style?"
Crowley blinked, recalling the conversation. "Right, sorry about that. I suppose you also decided to interpret my sarcasm literally when I said that I wished I could be so fashionable."
Aziraphale's smirk broke into a full smile, and he laughed. "When I saw that jumper, I couldn't resist. Sorry."
Crowley stared at Aziraphale, then looked back down at the jumper uneasily.
"You don't need to act so serious, Crowley. It's just a joke gift. I've got a real present for you too." Aziraphale rose and walked to the hall closet.
"Should I use holy water, or do you think fire will do the trick?"
"I'm afraid I have no idea what you're talking about, dear." Aziraphale frowned worriedly, brought over a second gift box, and set it next to Crowley. "Here. Merry Christmas."
"The jumper needs to be destroyed."
"Er, destroyed?"
"It keeps staring at me, Aziraphale. Look!" Crowley held up the garish jumper. Presumably, by "it" he meant the deformed, overly cheerful reindeer prancing on the front.
"It is a bit unsettling I suppose, but it's just a picture."
"A nightmare-inducing picture. I'm thinking I'll involve a chainsaw at some point in the process."
"You're being ridiculous, Crowley."
"Not as ridiculous as that jumper."
"Oh, will you open your gift already?"
Crowley opened the box to find ergonomic pruning shears and a rather expensive bottle of wine. "Ooh, this looks nice," he said, picking up the bottle.
"Yes, I should think so. Now let's forget about destroying the jumper for now," Aziraphale said, putting it back in its box as Crowley considered the pruning shears, "And have a drink."
"All right, angel, I'll let it go for now. But soon, little reindeer, soon you will be--"
"Crowley, it's Christmas Day. Be nice. Wait until tomorrow at least."
"Fine, fine. But I'm not sleeping until I know it's gone."
They walked into the kitchen with the bottle of wine in tow, and the little reindeer was safe for the day. Crowley eventually managed to get his mind off of it. Aziraphale, on the other hand, couldn't help but consider every so often throughout the day the merits of saving the jumper from ruin permanently and what fun he could have with a certain demon if he kept it. Maybe he could hide it until April Fool's and--
"Y'know, angel, even if tartan isn't all that stylish," Crowley said with a slight slur, interrupting Aziraphale's thought process, "you can pull it off."
"Thank you, Crowley," Aziraphale replied, surprised by the non-sequitur. He supposed he'd let Crowley destroy the jumper tomorrow. It was the right thing to do after all. "But tartan is stylish."
