Request: Give me historical fic. I want to read the most richly detailed thing you can write me about the most out-of-the-way bit of history you love, preferably not set in Rome, Greece, Britain, France, Germany, or the USA (pre-European-colonization/invasion Americas is A-OK). War or peace, how's it going, who's making trouble, and what are Aziraphale and Crowley up to? Little-known and under-appreciated historical personages a plus! - any rating
Artist's Notes: Happy Christmas! Here are two illustrations for you. Since it sounded like you wanted a complete departure from the European world, I thought you might enjoy a trip to Edo/Tokugawa era Japan. Crowley is traveling the Tokaido road, selling amulets, and Aziraphale is, of course, involved in the growing artistic and literary community. I hope this is along the lines of what you were hoping for.

Ooooh, that's lovely. I like what you've chosen for the style; Crowley's outfit in particular. I'm actually really fond of Tokugawa-era Japan, so A+ there. The fabric folds on Aziraphale clothing are quite perfectly lackadaisical! This is fantastic art and it looks like both of them are enjoying themselves. Thank you very much. ^_^

Now I need to know what Crowley's amulets actually do (as well as what he says they do, which I'm sure is not the same thing at all). Hmm.

I'm so very glad you liked it! Also, that I accidentally hit on a period you like. :D That is a bit of a relief. Merry Christmas, dear!

And, haha, I very much doubt Crowley's amulets do what they're advertised for, but I don't doubt that they do something.

These are great. The second piece especially. Wonderful linework that references traditional brushwork while keeping your own sense of character and personality. (Much love for that little tree!) Love the expressiveness of the figures and the way they occupy the space you put them in. (I hope that makes sense!)

Oh, this is beautiful. Ink-work, black and white, etc., I'm a sucker for that kind of artistic style. Thank you so much for participating!
