Title: Interlude and Ineffability Summary: Happy holidays, maniacalmole! When I saw " musicians" and "Regency style" I fell in love with your request, so I hope you will enjoy this little improvisation. Rating: G
*GASP* When I saw this, the PIANO, I literally leaned forward with my eyes wide and my hand on my chin like so many memes we've seen pictures of XD It's LOVELY!!! The art is so soft and delicate and fits the Regency style perfectly and the little frames! I wish I knew how to put the sobbing emoji here. The FRAMES. I like to imagine they have these pictures up in their home somewhere :') The way they're watching each other from afar at first, and then playing a duet together....and the NAME of this! Interlude and Ineffability :D I love it so much! Thank you so much!!! And thank you for having a story WITH your art, too!
Ok after staring at it for a few more minutes I also want to appreciate: everyone is faceless except Aziraphale because he's the only one he sees! Crowley's purple vest (for someone who looks so good in black he really can do color too!), Crowley's friggin silhouette, and his hairstyle, and how HAPPILY they're looking at each other in the last one!
I recognize you, secret gifter, and I couldn't be happier ;D I hope you're having a very happy holidays!!! Thank you again!
I guess we really do love the same things :D Who can resist historical omens?! I've written for the same person twice, too, it's funny how that happens, but when we enjoy the same stuff it all works out! Same to you, and have happy New Year! <3
Aaaw, this is so beautiful, delicate, and soft! Really, this is a metaphor of their love: first, they love and admire each other from afar, and then, finally, they are together, and it's perfect harmony because they have always meant to play/be together, haven't they?
I love Aziraphale at the piano and Crowley with a violin! It suits them so well. Just as the sideburns and those wonderful costumes do. And I love their expressions in the last panel: Crowley seems so unusually relaxed, and there's so much adoration in Aziraphale's gaze!
Also, I'm looking at the oval frames and I'm thinking: wouldn't it be nice if those images appeared on the snuffboxes in Aziraphale's collection? They are Regency, after all!
Omg, the idea to put these images on the snuffboxes never occurred to me, but you are right, it would be very fitting for Aziraphale :) Thank you for this wonderful comment!
Lovely triptych! I really like the decorative frames and the implication in the second scene that Crowley followed Aziraphale around to find out where he liked to take a stroll and then positioned himself at the gazebo/bandstand so he could "coincidentally" be playing music when Aziraphale walked by. XD
