Happy Holidays
vulgarweed!
title: "Dirty Tricks"
gift recipient:
vulgarweed
artist:
linnpuzzle
rating: "a very weak R"
summary and pairing: A/C; "roleplay"; An angel and a demon pretending to be humans, pretending to be a stereotypical angel and a demon... I'm confusing myself. Crowley's wings are black because I think Vulgarweed prefers it so.

Date: 2005-12-04 07:56 am (UTC)Aziraphale's hand is really acting quite naughty. Is that part of the roleplay? If so, how does that work out? Is Aziraphale roleplaying the demon? or just a naughty angel?
(well, now I've confused myself, too!)
Secret Artist, this is spectacular! Their wings look lovely. And their expressions and body language? YUMMY.
In short, I love this piece!

And that's me after the cold shower! ;)
That is so incredibly sexy and beautiful. It's like this snapshot of this particular sort of breaking point, with this urgency and immediacy and...it's kind of humorous too, but so intense. And what it leaves to the imagination is as luscious as what it shows. (The angles of their faces: is Crowley going to go for a kiss or a neck-bite? Right at that moment where it's too soon to tell.)
Favorite little things: Crowley grasping Aziraphale's tie; the little serpentine flourish in the flaming sword, and of course Aziraphale caught in that pseudo-defensive grope...it may look like an impasse, but I think he's winning.;) And the white light around Crowley and the red-orange around Aziraphale--very suggestive, that.
It is utterly fabulous in every respect, and I adore it. Thank you thank you thank you.
(I have no strong preference on wing color really: white and black are equally fanon, in my opinion--for both of them--so it's purely an aesthetic choice. When I make the call I go with black because I think if humans had wings, the kind of human Crowley pretends to be would have black ones.)

Yay! That was what I was hoping for, so now I'm thrilled. (I wanted it to look slightly tenser than this, though, because struggling usually is, but I simply couldn't pull it off.)
Oooo, gotcha. *makes mental note* Apropos of nothing, I think it was probably better that I didn't know that on beforehand, because the picture is better balanced because of the darkness of his wings. I don't think Aziraphale's wings really are as white as they're in the art, either, (it would make sense that they're different levels of smudged grey, if you asked me) but that's another rant entirely. But I agree, Crowley would look good in black wings.

Lovely.
Now I'm going to go over here and drool a bit more.

Aziraphale: Got your serpent.
Crowley: Ah.

Date: 2005-12-04 12:55 pm (UTC)Just. More insightful analysis impossible, brain melted. Just a few things that I wanted to comment on that haven't been mentioned yet. The wonderful opposing symmetry of the nearside arms - Crowley's bent up to cup Aziraphale's neck, Aziraphale's bent down to... well. Very appropriate; the demon who's not as bad as he thinks he is, and the angel who's not quite as holy as he should be.
And the way Crowley, at first glance, is the dominant one, leaning over Aziraphale, pinning his wrist, smug, devious little expression. Until you notice Aziraphale's hand, the mild expression on his face, the tiny, tiny, almost-not-there hint that he's trying not to smile, and you realise that the angel is So. In. Charge.
Um.
*rambles, helplessly*
I'm meant to get half a presentation written up today, but I have this open in a Firefox tab, and now I don't think I'll be able to concentrate.

Date: 2005-12-04 12:59 pm (UTC)I am intrigued by the white echo behind Crowley. Can't help but connect it with your description. Of course, that leads to more confusion, but still... The coloring looks alive. Love, love, love it! So very beautiful.
Oh, there's also a background. ;)

Well, you can choose to interpret it any way you like. After all, it's Crowley who does the loving caresses here, while Aziraphale goes for the sexual one. Crowley's surrounded by white, while Aziraphale's background is dark. They're not just good and evil, they've been around each other so much that they've begun to colour off on each other. So really, who knows who plays which role in this?

Okay, words are utterly failing me. I'll just say "copy and paste everything Vulgarweed had to say, because I noticed the same things". And add to that "this is THE perfect pairing of ANY fandom, and you've really brought that home in the best possible way". As for the art itself, gorgeous enough to put on a plate and eat, very very slowly.
