The sad thing is, a friend of mine DID this a while ago. (We made heart cookies on Halloween and she delighted in making them look bloody. I have NO EXPLANATION.)

what can i say? Masses of red-dyed sugar melts at high temperatures, thus creating highly realistic blood! Hearts are red. Red sugar melts to look like blood. Therefore the hearts turned out bloody! Anyways, it was HALLOWEEN! Saccharine little hearts are for teenagers at valentines day.
