Seriously, this is beautiful. I can't wait to find out who you are, so I can stalk you if I don't already. <33333333

This is so amazingly beautiful. I've spent the last four months in Florence, and this is my second-to-last night here.I'm actually tearing up a little. And the wings and their faces and the HANDS... absolutely lovely.

*gasps*

This is just stunning.
The shading. The scrolls. The rooftops. Their robes. Their wings. Their hands. Their faces.

I'm ... overwhelmed.
I feel like I won the quoits contest, instead of the High Priest.

Thank you SO much, Secret Artist. (Can't wait to find out who you are.)
ineffable mods have a tiny, grateful note

DA VINCI WING! *squee!*

This is unbelievably beautiful. Everything from the colours, to the clothing, to the background, to the incredible sweetness of their pose makes my eyes so happy :)

Halghguffsnaah? I love this so much! Florence, the clothing (Crowley does look good in those sleeves!) and the suggestion of construction and dynamism!

This is so amazingly beautiful. I think what I love the most is how peaceful they look, as though they would be perfectly content to remain together forever. Just...guh.

The detail in the clothes and the wings (took me a minute to see 'Zira's) are really amazing--love the sketchy edges in places contrasted against smooth painting in the landscape.
I am trying so hard to pick out what it is that I like and why, but what I really want to do is just dissolve into a puddle of squee. >

Guess I wasn’t done squeeing … :-)

Also a sly sense of humor here (mimicking our heroes, no doubt).
Because of all the (magnificent here!) habiliments the Renaissance Ethereal Beings could have chosen to put on … hee hee … who knows what they were getting ready to get up to.
<3

And, echoing notes upthread, Aziraphale’s raiment is the apex of restrained elegance, while Crowley is wearing the hell out of those sleeves

Been trying to grab time to comment on this year's wonderful bounty but when I got to this, I had to just MAKE time!

What an extraordinary visual grandeur you've achieved! I've delighted in all the GO art of yours I've seen; yes, it's hard for an artist with such a recognizable style to stay secret. But for this gift, you've taken it to a new level.

You've always had a clean, polished style, very confidently professional. But the obvious amount of research has resulted in a fully integrated homage to the period: the cityscape with the Duomo a typical, muted background for a painting of the time as well as a delicate texture that you’ve picked up in the engraving on the orrery behind them (!)
Crowley’s elegant black, modeled after the bust of Lorenzo de Medici, looks rich and dignified, a visual frame for the pale robes of Aziraphale’s princely churchman that, with his red sash, makes the framework that holds the composition together. There’s a graciousness in the spread of that black wing while ‘Zirah’s curves round his own body.

If your calligraphy is hand drawn, I think I’ll just fold my easel and slink into the night!

Beyond the sumptuous care in this picture, the almost conjoined benediction as they stand far above the city, you’ve given a typical period formal double portrait a dreaming tenderness. The regal way their heads incline to each other and the formal placing of their joined hands, it’s as if Crowley is offering a gracious hand to his consort. It’s at once elegant and deeply intimate.

This is beautiful, - the pose (eyes closed and foreheads touching, holding hands), the background (Florence in lovely muted tones, whee!), the translucent wings, and the lovely scroll.

Oh, of course *now* I can see this. Grr.

Anyway, beautiful work! I absolutely love their pose, you can really tell how much they care about each other. :) Genuis job on folds as well! Excellent work in whole, my dear.
